Herbal Medical Center 麻省中医院

Postdoctoral Fellows

RedSun Institute of Medicine in Boston is a world leader in R&D of hi-tech herbal medicine, cancer research, molecular immunology, hybrid tumor vaccines and protein drugs. We integrate modern western medicine technology with hi-tech herbal monomer compounds in our drug discovery. We have successfully invented hi-tech anti-cancer herbal pills (LDL-110) and CA-LZD (肿瘤一针消) new drugs that have cured many cancer patients with free of side-effects.

Job Code 66001. Project of Hybrid Tumor Vaccines

A postdoctoral position is available in our joined Harvard Tumor Immunology Laboratory. The research fellow will work in our ongoing project of hybrid tumor vaccines, focusing on allogeneic hybrid tumor vaccines by up-regulating tumor antigens in gene-transfected antigen presenting cells (APCs) and hybrids. (1) To study gene transfected APCs as the amplifier of tumor antigens using an activator of Chinese herbal monomer compound. (2) To study the role of up-regulated HMC-II in APCs using flow cytometry, cell sorting, immunochemical staining, or confocal microscopy. (3) To investigate the mechanism of tumor rejection resulting from allogeneic hybrid tumor vaccines. The candidates should have a Ph.D. degree with hand-arts laboratory skills and be able to establish in vivo tumor models in rodents, tissue culture, hybridization, gene transfection or construct of plasmas of cytokines. A strong background in molecular immunology is a plus. Highly motivated individuals should send a description of research interests, curriculum vitae, and the names, phone number, and E-mail address of three references to: Human Resource, RedSun Institute of Medicine, 242 Dorchester Street, South Boston, MA 02127, USA or email to davidliu@hmcboston.com or fax to 617-464 3508.

Job Code 66002. Project of Cancer Prevention

A postdoctoral position is available in our joined Harvard Tumor Immunology Laboratory and China cooperative Institute at Zhong Shan University. The research fellow will work in our ongoing project of prevention of cancer, pre-treatment of tumor bearing animals using hi-tech herbal ingredients before tumor implantation. (1) To observe immuno-histological changes in thymus, lymphoid organs and bone marrow. (2) To study the role of activated dendritic cells and gene transfected mononuclear phagocytes in tumor surveillance and development. (3) To evaluate changes in subcutaneous matrix structure using Mass-Spectrum. 4) Anti-cancer immunity and its genetics. The candidates should have a Ph.D. degree with expertise in in vivo tumor models in mice, tissue culture, Elisa, Western blot, immunochemical staining and dynamically traffic antigen presenting cells and lymphocytes and mononuclear phagocytes. A strong background in hi-tech herbal medicine is a plus.
